So, any anime and/or JRPG fans around?

I'd like to know which are your favourite and why? For both.

Also, any reccomendations you might have for some new anime.

Yeah but they're a pretty different genre from Western RPGs, sometimes to the point they're not considered RPGs at all - more like interactive stories. (You often don't get to create and play your own character, for example, and there is no choice & consequence.) On the other hand, I feel JRPGs have preserved the turn- and party-based dynamic of tabletop D&D better than most western games.

Yeah...they don't exactly work the same way, and people usually distinguish it as a "subgenre" of RPG's because of the art style and also the fact that they're closer to their RPG roots (the turn-based system like he said is a good example). As for the choice & consequence some do give you that option, but yeah, still a lot more limited and in a considerably smaller number than Western ones do.

It wasn't. I actually didn't know there was a difference between RPG and JRPG, hence I asked.

@Karlabos: Okay.

Any good PS3 JRPGs? The Final Fantasy games sucked big time in the PS3 era.

Well it's not the norm or anything, i was suprised as well when i saw it. Usually this kind of games only hits these prices either if you're subscribed to PS Plus or some 4 or 5 years later. But i guess it didn't sell that much, at least here in Europe, so the price drop was fast and quite substantial.
Still R$60 is a good deal for this game. It's a gem.

Ni No Kuni is indeed something quite special. Reminds me a lot of Dragon Quest VIII, which is my favourite RPG of all time.

PS: Level 5 makes the best JRPG's out there. Even Fantasy Life for the 3DS is quite awesome!
