Civil War and Sabaton , we all know connection, line up left, and so on, both bands are similar in many factors, style , lyrical context even from same area of Sweden. Both bands sings about history, battles, not about dragons as most PM bands do. Historical battles, history, and so on ...only difference Civil War has not so long history of records and they are new band (whit long musical back ground)

My chose is Civil war, because I like Nils Patrik Johansson as vocalist, he has unique vocals, when I start digging into MA, I found Astral Doors and I liked his vocals. Its unique. And also its more Heavy metal then power, meanwhile Sabaton has more PM elements , even ist Manowar not cheesy Freedom Call and such bands, but still and in some way Joakim Brodén his singing style also is weird sometimes. But I like both bands lyrically, something different and more hidden themes. Many ppl wont even know what is Bay Of Pigs what new Civil war song is about.

I would say I like Sabaton more, but I have become quite bored of them in recent years so I am eager to hear what Civil War will produce. The best thing about Sabaton is probably the subject matter (which is always interesting) and seeing them live. I can barely sit through a studio album of Sabaton, but I've always loved seeing them live. I've only heard Civil Wars first full length album and have yet to hear the second one. Maybe my mind will change when I do

Sabaton for me, besides "Bay of Pigs" I never found any song of Civil war to be inspiring or even creative. They first have to at least come close to Carolus Rex, then we'll be talking

CV is better I think NPJ are better singer

Sabaton though I have to say that their music is getting stale. Especially the last album feels really generic imo. But they still have good subject matters and some fun songs on it.

There is no point in having such an option... because that's not what this topic is about. If you don't like them, good for you but why feel the need to say that on a thread that is specifically aimed at comparing both bands. Wouldn't it be more useful to just ignore the thread then?

Furthermore that statement isn't really constructive tbh... you don't even explain why you don't like them...

Also on a sidenote there doesn't seem to be a lot of stuff that you actually like (could just be an impression though)

Fair enough, if you think that Sabaton and Civil War are like that.

Civil war is not as real flower metal, but sabaton is, and more what it has status and pose, samn one of rare bands where singer should have a hair acyually one of a million when it matters
CV has some decent songs actually

Nills is a great vocal, stunning, but I believe the band lacks creativity and would eventually suffocate his gift.

I love Sabaton. One of my favorite bands (gonna see them in February!). That being said, their newest album (The Last Stand) was very lacking, as many of the songs lacked the heaviness of The Art Of War, or even Heroes. I mean hell, Blood Of Bannockburn almost sounds like a TV sitcom intro. I've only listened to a few songs by Covil war, and I wasn't too into it. Then again, it took quite a while for me to get into Sabaton.

I listen to a little bit of Euro-power, i even made a list, a rather short one though.

Nice both, but Civil War more power while Sabaton more heavy awkward, I like both.
