I was watching a Metallica dvd today, followed by a Slayer dvd, and wondered who has the Greatest Power Guitar Stance?

For me it has to be James Hetfield. The same stance for the last 28 years cant be wrong.

I have a couple of favourites - André Olbrich's (Blind Guardian) trademark look-down-and-concentrate-while-using-the-wah-pedal is my favourite, thanks in no small part to the fact that it's how I stand a lot haha. Also a big fan of Obsidian C's (Keep of Kalessin) furious look-down-with-firey-intensity stance, suits the music and looks fucking cool. The Amon Amarth guys usually look pretty cool, too - really commanding (and manly ) stances.

Agreed, Laiho is the man when it comes to his stance. The way he plays is fukking cool and on stage it's even better.

Haha, except when he flicks his hair around all the time, such a woman It is pretty good besides that.

My favourite is Christofer Johnsson from Therion. Has anyone seen the live (bootleg) 'In The Desert Of Set' clip? The side to side thing is so fucking cool lol. Its not only from this song, but this clip is widely known. Ive seen him do it on the DVD too.

I really liked Nergal's stance in Behemoth's Conquer All vid.

James Hetfield has best looking stance for me. Also his kind of guitar contributes to some extent. Laiho stance also is nice thought I like best is his knee when playing solo

this is not a guitarplayer but the bassplayer in Metallica got a cool stance as well, it must be tuff to play like that for an hour or so

Trey Azgthoth - he plays guitar like hes constipated making the best stance ever.

Angus Young (Even though he's rock) Has possibly the wildest guitar stance ever, I wouldn't even call it a stance, because He doesn't stay still long enough to be in one, but he has a pretty good stance.
