Well I've actually jumped on the hype bandwagon and I'm looking forward to this!

(But tbh I'm quite sure the new Joanna Newsom album will be my favourite of this year, at the very least.)

Come Back has some serious Emperor vibes.

Quite tedious. Didn't know what to expect really, but this does not convert me. I guess the third album is the last chance they had for me.

Nice school daze album I like it one of band what visually somehow don't work , but musically works. Nice one, mixing from calmer atmo parts and more aggressive atmo parts

I find this has heavy Emperor vibes and really good modern black metal production. Very atmospheric but at the same time stripped down. Vocally very catchy too.

Hmmm. Well, one of the reasons I didn't particularly care for Sunbather all that much was because to me it was way more shoegaze than black metal. The debut, I think, was the opposite, and I like that one much more. So if this one is more of a return to the Roads To Judah type sound, more of a black metal prevalence, I might actually be inclined to check it out

I'd give it a listen, you never know. Still has the Deafheaven trade marks but has a more even mix of Black and Shoegaze.

Its a little more progressive too.

Every now and then an album comes along and makes me scratch my head, and I'm not sure what to think of it.

It's a brilliant sentence but it tells just the half of the truth, you can enjoy pure or classic black metal and enjoy Deafheaven as well (or i hope so...).
Anyway, i think it's a brilliant album, no matter the style...

Also find some old Smashing Pumpkins vibes... and i like it

The vocals is so much better on New Bermuda than earlier. One of my favourites this year.

You probably already gave it a listen but I'll answer anyway... Indeed, this new release contains their typical sound formula, except the closing track which has some strong indie-rock vibes going on. Fuck, even tambourine is here?! So, judging by your weirdo taste of music you should dig it

To be honest I just listened to it today.
It's quite good. But still too formulaic. But they're getting more interesting to hear. Very slowly... But they're getting =p

Same formula, but they have improved that formula. love the vocals in this one too, good album!
