"Poor man's Helstar" that doesnt sound like Helstar at all. Interesting...
Can you provide a better description for the record? It seems you are pretty familiar with the bands and records, I'm sure you've got some insights to share.
For starters, Deadly Blessing has none of the speedy technical riffing, borrowed from Coroner's debut, that Helstar has. The speed metal in general seem to be playing much smaller role in Deadly Blessing's sound. The general direction Deadly Blessing is going for- triumphant chorus-based uspower metal with unambiguously thrash metal riffage, meanwhile Helstar is more of dexterity focused a speed metal/uspm. "Escape the Wrath" and "To Sleep, Per Chance to Scream" sound as unlike each other as you could imagine. I saw you under Cauldron Born's album, again, comparing it to Helstar, so my guess is either: Helstar is the only band you listened to, or the second, much more likely option, that Helstar is your favorite/your first uspm band so you use them as a benchmark even for bands that barely resemble them.
Thanks for your input, my man. Yes, I admit, I'm a big fan of Helstar so I guess I used to refer to them as comparison to bands that came afterwards. And I do like Cauldron Born a lot as well, maybe I gave a wrong impression about them, I like them a lot. But to clarify not all of my comments should be taken literally, because I'd like see folks making their own conclusions, and I appreciate that a lot
