Can you tell me what a gem the fifth position hides? Also, Possession and Bathsheba are missed, if you take EP's into consideration. Respectively: blackened death and female-fronted doom.

It's a placeholder for when I finally release some of my own material that will likely be the fifth best thing on this list Nah, it's there to separate my 4 favorites from the rest. Those first 4 are what I'd say everyone should listen to first, so it made sense to put them at the top. The others are ordered alphabetically.

Thanks for the suggestions, I do include EP's and whatnot. There are already a few of those featured and even a demo. It's funny though, I saw that Bathsheba album just last week and almost listened to it, but having it come from you in the form of a recommendation makes me a lot more inclined to do so!

Possession and Bathsheba

Listened to both and the other Possession EP. Especially liked Bathsheba, but both definitely make the list.

I don't know a lot of these bands. That's good.

I see The Serpentcult in there but not Thee PLague Of Gentlemen which I find to a better band, especially due to the vocals.

Now... Can't say I've listened to everything they did, but their last two (Mirror Palace and The Arrogance Of Ignorance) are excellent, if you like their unique take on (extreme) prog bordering on avant stuff at times.

Something about female vocals in doom metal, man in most other genres they annoy me, but they always sound so fitting in doom metal for some reason.
Listening to Thee Plague Of Gentlemen now though, it's great.

They only get that amount of exposuredue to their age. Totally not due to the music they play. How goddamned boring generic post metal can you be? Well, apparently as much as these guys.

This gave me an idea to make a similar list, about my country.

Listened to almost all albums here and Thee Plague Of Gentlemen is the bestest best until now.
