Where I live we where always one year after with everything. It probably was difficult getting albums distributed to us so 1994 was very much Icon for me.

Additional info Collaboration LP between Post-metal side-project Jesu and American Folk act Sun Kil Moon.
May be the single worst choice of vocalist / vocal style ever. Not only can the singer not sing, he can barely talk. I don't think I could ever enjoy this, and I'm guessing I should avoid Sun Kil Moon in the future.

I guess there's a market for this sort of semi-spoken / muttered vocal, so I hope you get on better with it than I did. I just couldn't concentrate on the music though.

Most horrible comment I ever experienced in my life. This is pure blasphemy
This isnt metal but probably one of the best albums 2016. Still the best (nonmetal) song this year
Just saying... Out of curiosity I clicked on the link and started listening to it.
It went more or less like: "Just a sad piano driven song so far... nothing wrong here, there's no way his voice could ruin the whole thing and... " (then 0:26 comes in) Pppbbbbttttttt!!!

Red House Painters? We used to listen to them in the early 90s and hes voice is as good as then.
There's nothing wrong with his vocals imo. But overall the song was boring as fuck. I've heard plenty of better tunes in 2016. This one, for example ;]

How is it boring? You have to change mode , listen to the lyrics.
I love Mark; well, I love the stuff he used to do up until Admiral Fell Promises, his latest record I still bother to listen to once in a while. Also, April is one of my all time favourites. But since Among The Leaves something really wrong must have happened, as he's become grating as hell, I just can't stand hearing him croak and ramble like that. Justin Broadrick does a decent job in this case, I guess, but the frog at the microphone fucks everything up.
And this is a spendid project. I guess the music is good but its hard not to focus on the poetry here. I cant really think about anyone else doing this spoken word thing as good as Mark at the moment. The lyrics is simple everyday stuff but with great depth. And if you havent seen them, this is one of the best live acts of the year - that is if youre in to three hours of spoken work . And as I said before Exodus is up there with the best songs this year. Looking forward to the new album next year.

You'll never see this but Benji by Sun Kil Moon is probably the best singer/songwriter album ever.
