Lascaille's Shroud - New Album Details Revealed

Behold! The title and track list for Lascaille's Shroud's upcoming third album!

"The Roads Leading North is the story of a woman gifted with the companionship and knowledge of an ancient alien sentience. Raised in the isolation of a research facility where the sentience -- naming itself Compass -- gently attempts to guide the world into a stable future, our protagonist uncovers a grander plot designed for herself in the shadows of her life.

"Escaping into the world for the first time, she runs from her pursuers and is hunted across the planet. Through pain, starvation, homelessness, torture -- and even death -- she must seek a resolution to the many threads that her life has created, even if it may kill her.

"Inside her is not only the presence of an alien mind, but a technological marvel that some would do anything to control. A colony of quantum entangled machines that defy physics keeps a lethal illness at bay, but their capabilities extend far beyond that of medicinal miracles..."

The cover is so retro
I wonder if the sound will be any synthwave-ish?

Unfortunately no haha, I have a lot of electronic elements in some songs, especially the big epic. The track "Sketches of Madness" is entirely electronic, and a bit inspired by Dan Terminus, but as awhole the album lacks the awesomely sexy vibe of a true synthwave album.

However, the next album . . .

The concept is interesting. Feels like a deja-vu in some way. The cover is just gorgeous. I love this kind of retro album artworks. Partly reminds me of some settings in some 80s or 90s sci-fi anime series.

Yeah the last album was a space metal monster. The cover isn't what I would expect from LS but I am really looking forward to listening to the next chapter in the LS journey.

Unless this is drastically different in sound than previous Lascaille's Shroud albums I don't see that cover going well with the music at all.
Anyways, looking forward to this nonetheless, I just hope it won't be as long as Interval 02.

Well unfortunately for you (I guess) it clocks in at just under 2 hours! But, the upside is because there are more songs, and a good portion of them are under 10 minutes, with only one monster song clocking in at 25 minutes.

I loved Interval 02, but it was a fucking swamp to get through. I just inherently write longer stuff, but this time I made sure I paced things more accessibly, and I think it shows. No more putting 50 minutes of music between two songs back-to-back in the middle of the album.

Best pacing idea ever!

As for the album art, it is not intended to reflect the sound of the album, it is intended to reflect its story

Good shit.

For the cover art, it reminds me a lot to Maiden's Somewhere in time

I take any Maiden comparison in any form for any reason as sign that I'm doing something right
