Best Anathema album? No. Most chill and contemplative? Absolutely.

Who here has listened to this album? Is it worth getting? I've listened to one of the tracks, but I don't know, it seemed a little too slow and melancholy.

I think it is worth it.

Sweet, I am probably getting it this week. \m/
----
See how it sings like a sad heart
And joyously screams out its pain
Sounds that build high like a mountain
Or notes that fall gently, like rain.

Boring album with one or two good songs.
San Fransisco is the worst song in the album I don't get it why they use so much electronic sounds .
I missed old Anathem

San Francisco is a great track as an opener. They opened with it last night, and it was a really good way to kick off things.

I really rather like the album from tracks 1 thru 7, and the closer is a neat song, but Can't Let Go in particular, but songs 8-10 in general are a bit of a late album dip. Not as good as Weather Systems, which I've come to really love, but comparable in quality I think to Distant Satellites, and perhaps slightly more memorable than that record

Some moments are good, hardly any whole songs though. After some consideration I start to think these modern long album formats are a curse, that in 90% of times the additional length makes the albums suck more and unnecessarily so. Times when long play standard was 40 minutes are missed. This album would appear way better as 10-15 minutes shorter. Anyway, it's a letdown to me, even if I didn't expect anything especially good at this point of time from the band. MEH is the synopsis.

Ha, and you have reached the final point of your journey (as of now), congrats.
And yeah, I agree, that is still another letdown after the predecessor.
But still, even on this album, I find some enjoyable moments, namely Springfield, Leaving it behind, and in particular Wildfires. For the latter one, I come back to this album from time to time.
Overall some 6.7 here.
This album does not really make me wait for their next release though.
