I do have tons of better GTT go through as I haven't checked out anything after their first two full lengths, so not a loss at all.

Some bigger names coming back next year. First off is Downfall Of Gaia, post-black that seem to have a decent fanbase.






Expect a new Pensées Nocturnes album next year. Already sounds like some fun avant-garde circus metal.





New Astronoid album on the horizon too. Never really liked these guys but they seemed to cause waves here.





Most exciting of all though, Chimp Spanner are finally back. I was really starting to think he was done but apparently not. Hype.

Project Regeneration by Static X will be out in 2019. Should be the best one as it is surviving works of Wayne Static with the rest of the band in accordance.

Psychedelic prog sludge or something like that, with vocals I really dig. Seems they already got pre-disapproved from Metal Archives, lel. Great video too, taken from 'Voyage to the Planet of Prehistoric Women'




Off-kilter noise-punk / rock. Short track out but sets it in good stead.

Debut record of Portland's death/doom maniacs Ossuarium. Dan Oceanburial provides the really good organic cover art.

New Black Twilight Circle stuff out on Iron Bonehead.

Definitely not my fave BTC project but that does sound good, and nice to see the movement is alive.

Weird, confusing doom coming out on Transcending Obscurity. Sounds like Jesu combined with experimental, slightly discomforting extreme doom.




Also good sounding black metal coming out on Amor Fati.




Truly cavernous music coming out on Iron Bonehead.

New Barshasketh song out. Modern black again, maybe a tad too clean for my taste but seems good enough.

New black metal collaborative affair coming from K. Morgan (Ash Borer, Predatory Light, Superstition) and M. Rekevics (Vorde, Vilkacis, Yellow Eyes, Fell Voices), out on Profound Lore.




And a pretty cool sounding, one-man kinda post-ish black thing.

A new Icelandic metal entry: bassy, proggy black / death metal with sick percussion. This should be good, the song is excellent. [edit] Actually it's fucking brilliant, the way the drums and sounds collide later in the track is really hypnotic. Well excited for this. Great to see they've eschewed the typical Icelandic sound in favour of something more unique.

Debemur Morti 'Servants of Chaos II' compilation has a Yerû�elem (Yeruselem) song on it. It's rather good. Also has new / unreleased Blut aus Nord and Terra Tenebrosa songs as well.

Tbh no one listens to these recs anyway so I might just keep it down to the very, very best stuff that isn't on MS at the time.

I think the tempos fine. The only thing I dont like so much is those 10 recs at a time posts, othervise

Vanum sounded quite ok, but damn those guys like doing the same stuff over and over again but in different bands.

Yeah I've been making separate posts now instead of mass posts. They do get a bit much. Vanum could be fine, didn't blow me away or anything especially as there already seems to be some promising black metal on the horizon, but will certainly give the whole thing a jam.

I went back and checked their demo as 20buck often have good stuff and its a nice one, looking forward to this.

Female-solo black metal band Khaotic (D. Profaner) releasing a new album next year. Weird band for me seeing as I never actually managed to listen to their previous album as it never got streamed anywhere in full or was purchasable digitally (physical copies only that never found their way onto Youtube etc), even though the released songs sounded great and had a really nice mournful and epic Blut aus Nord vibe. Anyway, hoping this actually gets some exposure.

Upcoming demo from Grey Aura. Good little post-black band this. Never did listen to their full length in full back when it was released, mostly because they dicked around with the release of it so forgot it existed.




And some pretty interesting sounding prog coming out from the UK next year.

Song from the new Haunter 2019. It was included on the Crawl split as well.

New Embrional album out next month. Haven't listened to this track yet but I'm betting on it being some solid left-field death metal if their previous stuff is anything to go by.

Excellent rough 'n' tumble black metal out next year from Feral Light. Great sound and nice bouncy, interesting riff style.

Some legit decent cavernous death to herald in the new year. They sound quite like fellow Greeks Embrace of Thorns when they were at their best so wondering if there's some influence going on there.

Weird and potentially great Lovecraft blackened doom thingggg.




Off-kilter Dutch post-black with a dark atmospheric vibe. Nice distinctive vocals.




More Darkspace-y space black. Not bad at all.




Rather good, arguably symphonic or melodic doom. Tightly played stuff with some fairly expansive songmanship.




I really like this band's sound. No doubt it'll get tagged as black metal everywhere, but to me it sounds like some kind of super old-school melodic death metal when it gets going. Weirdly subdued melodies, almost like something off Terminal Spirit Disease, and driving percussion.
