The question in this topic is: "Why do the japanes allways get bonus tracks?"
When I look at several cd's (it doesn't matter which band)I see that if you're japanese you allways get extra songs and most of them are very good songs.
Does anyone have an explanation fo this?

Amy
I am not sure why and it is frustrating because those bonus tracks are often good.

As is seen in the Global Metal documentary, could it be because Japanese people are one of the wildest audiences out there...

I agree with your comment; most probably it has to do with economics; life in Japan is very expensive so might as throw in some extra stuff for them, for their money spent.

The Evergreen
From Wikipedia, the great and powerful:
Japan is one of the largest music markets in the world. However, domestic pressings are more expensive there than in the U.S. or Europe, so Japanese labels often arrange for additional content in the locally manufactured products as a marketing technique in an attempt to be competitive with imports.

FWIW, I think that's stupid. CDs are now very cheap to make, but I suppose that once you get people doing things a certain way for long enough, they tend to keep on doing it even if there is no reason keep going. Me, I just download the bonus at the highest possible quality. Tony Kakko told me it was okay.
