Plague Of Stars - Lineup Changes

Plague Of Stars is thrilled to announce that guitarist Aaron "Frodo" Caulfield (The Omega Sequence, ex-Witchden, ex-Echoes of the Fallen) will join the band replacing Nick Malbraaten, who shortly ago announced he needed to step down from the band to focus on family. Frodo will participate in the songwriting on the next album slotted to begin recording in March and will debut on stage with the band for their next show on February 16th.

Stated Frodo: "I'm excited to be a part of the Plague Of Stars family and look forward to seeing where we go from here."

The band is equally excited to bring Frodo's expertise to use. They stated: "Frodo brings a wealth of musical talent to his projects. His playing is equal parts heavy, nuance, technical and powerful, and we look forward to his contributions on the new album and on stage."

Another line up change because bassist Timothy left the band

It was a heavy heart today that we announce that Plague of Stars has decided to part ways with our long- time friend and band member, Timothy Edward Morton. Tim has played on both our albums "When Morning Came" and "Daedalus"; contributing not only through tracking bass (some guitar as well) but also writing several songs. Tim helped define Plague of Stars sound and was continuing to help us grow through collaboration, creativity and progression.

We are proud to say this is not personal nor is it the age old excuse of "musical differences", it's truly logistics pure and simple. For those not aware, Tim relocated to California in October last year for a great job opportunity and to pursue other life goals. At the time it was decided that we would see how things went. Some shows Tim could make, others we played with fill in bass players.Let's face it Tim moving to Los Angeles opens up several doors to him musically and it makes sense for him to be free to pursue music out there as he pleases.

As a band, we don't feel we can give our latest album "Daedalus" a proper push without playing more shows, more often in more places. This just isn't possible long term when considering the costs of travel and time necessity to function at our highest level. Tim most recently flew in for the "Merry Krampus" event with Impaler and he killed it. Sadly, it made sense for this to be his last show with the band with all things considered.

We truly wish Tim the best and we feel this is the best thing for all involved. Tim will continue to play with Aaron (Lanik) in his other band Dying Euforia. In the coming weeks, we will begin to determine what's next. For now, we are going to let the ink dry before we start talking replacement. All shows will go on as scheduled and we will continue writing our third album between shows.
