Two of the great bands responsible for the worldwide spread of Melodeath / Gothenburg Metal, making the Scandinavian country the breadbasket of a new sound. For some, 2007/2008 was the beginning of the fall of some Swedish bands, for others, a step forward in search of a more modern sound ... Which is the best after all?

Well not really, dark Tranquillity and at the gates plus few mid 90's bands what make it spread. I love mdm but non of those bands. In Flames has just first album, but I hate soilwork, to me that and sonic sindecate was way to modern bands 20 years before we can say moder band. Non of those bands are good, thete are way to better listen new formation kvaern and many old bands, just dig deeper eucharist

The only song I know from A Great Divide is Exile, but I like it more than any song on A Sense of Purpose. I actually found Sounds of a Playground Fading to be better.
