So, on another thread a few metalstromers and I got into a convo about Atheism, however that was, I must admit, just a little bit off topic. So I decided to make a thread about it.

Atheism goes alot Deeper than most people realize, and is more than the simple idea of "there is no god/s, and when you're dead you're dead." There are a number of different atheist philosophy's and these are all widely practiced across the world. For example, "Epicurianism" was an ancient greek belief that since there was no god/s, you should live each day like it's your last, because this is the only life you have, and every day could very well be your last.

So when you come to this discussion, tell us, are you an atheist? What are your general thougts on atheism? Do you find it intresting? Let's make it a good conversation people.

also, here are some links

Havent watched the video, but what i wanted to say is:

Stephen Hawking dedicated his life understanding and explaining how the Big Bang comes from "natural process"...he even claims his research has made God obsolete, because the process of Big Bang is the logical solution of laws of physics...but what exactly prevents me from asking "and why is it so, that this is "natural"? who made such laws?"...it cannot deny the possibility of God's existence somewhere "beyond"

thats why i turned agnostic lately...i wont praise any particular god, because noone can prove me its existence, but also neither can prove the non-existence of any god and therefore being atheist by a reason and not just by different kind of belief...
The bones of beasts and the bones of kings
Become dust in the wake of the hymn
Mighty kingdoms rise, but they all will fall
No more than a breath on the wind

I consider myself to be spiritual, i dont know what that exactly means, but makes sense to me. I do believe that there are no gods, but there is a greater truth, that is beyond our mind, heart and body, and that dwells deep in you looking at your emotions, thoughts, and sensations.
