Would love a more straightforward approach, they need to bring back some aggression and maybe scrap the choirs aswell

Great news, I think Eonian was a solid release and feel that it was very underrated because it was the name Dimmu Borgir on it...

If it is anything like last two records than it is not worth buying.

Like 2020 wasn't bad enough

While Abrahadabra had a few good songs, Eonian what just a few good riffs. Next album will have few good notes. But go to the Interdimensional Summit video on YT and check the comments. There's public for black metal nightwish. And i'm certain they'll keep on that direction. It's just not my cup of tea.

Besides good notes, might have a decent artwork as well
You can listen to latest ...and Oceans or Raventale instead.

Hopefully less whispering/ spoken words and less over the top symphonies and just more aggression and good riffs. but for a follow-up to Eonian I think that's not happening

Was never wowed by them before and they've really diluted their sound with the focus shifting to their third-tier orchestration. Might just be a matter of time before even their most ardent fans move on.

I don't care if Eonian is not like the usual DB stuff, it just sounds like amateur black metal that what really buggers me. It's boring and mostly uninteresting except for a few and scarce moments. Oh and wait, is there a singer in that band?

There are so many shallow shit-flinging commenters every time there is a post about Dimmu Borgir. You guys need to move on with your lives.

I personally enjoy both old and new Dimmu. I'm not a HUGE fan of either, but both have several highlights. I'll be looking forward to this - and I couldn't care less how aggressive it is or isn't.

Maybe I'm the rare among the rarests. I Like old DB stuff but for me Abrahadabra is the besti thing they have ever done, also Eonian might be the worst.

I like the modern approach, the choirs and orquestration, but Eonian was uninspired and bland...

So glad that DB are prepared to keep evolving, so many bands keep being predictable. Yeah, some albums are better than others but so what, I love 'em!

They should of assemble a new band back in 2018 called Eonian, gave the first album title Eonian 1, and this upcoming one Eonian 2. RIP DB.
