Anthrax, one of the "Big Four of Thrash", certainly deserves their own thread here on Metalstorm forums (as they have in the past). Definetly a great band worth discussing. If you are new to the band, I recommend you listen to "Among the Living" sometime.

Anthrax on the Revolver Metal Gods awards was straight embarassing. One of the worst songs/live performances that I have ever heard.

I am really excited about the new Anthrax record. The new song is great and totally reminds me of their 80's stuff.

The new song is a shameless attempt at recreating their 80's stuff. At first I liked it, but then I saw the truth. As with everything they have done in the last 10 years at least, they first and foremost look at money. They calculated that a retro thrash ride will bring them the most. So you should expect a recreation of Among the Living and State of Euphoria. I. e. something as bad the latest Testament. Completely soulless carbon copy of their old glory.

80's Anthrax is my second favorite of the Big 4, behind only Megadeth. Their John Bush material though... Second only to Reload as the worst of the big 4 in the 90's, although they did manage to beat Destruction over in Germany, who released the horrendous Least Successful Human Cannonball. But Among the Living more then makes up for any wrongdoings in the 90's, it just sums up thrash fucking metal like few albums do

Anthrax is great. Among The Living is just epic.

Now, Anthrax was probably my first real metal band that liked... My first band shirt was even a State Of Euphoria tee. (Alot of peope hate that album, I put it equally with all of the Belladonna era)

After Persistence, I didn't like anything besides the Stomp album, and to be honest the new album deffinitely sounds like some Bush era-stuff with Joey thrown on top. All the songs I can hear so far just scream out to me that Bush is supposed to be singing, as much as I totally prefer Belldonna as a vocalist.

I'm not sure Worship Music is going to deliver quite as well as I would like, but I don't think it's going to be a BAD album either.
