So... I'm looking to buy a new turntable. Something to play my old records. Records which haven't been played for over 15 years. My budget is £350 and ideally I wanted one with a built in pre-amp. At the moment I'm looking towards the Sony PS-HX500 but I'm looking for recommendations. This comes with the fairly standard USB recording feature which will be nice to have but not essential to me. I'd rather sacrifice that for audio quality. Is there a noticeable jump in audio quality if I buy one without a Pre-amp and spend that money on a separate? I wanted to avoid that as I don't even have a CD player these days. This is purely for playing my vinyl and I wanted a compact solution. i.e something I could plug my pair of Kef speakers in to and away I go!
