Continuation of the (at times) great thread by Damnated.

Last thing mentioned was the LLN *sigh, again*, and SVEST.

These albums are very fast and agressive, but without that "ratatatatatatatatata" drumming, with much thrash influence and perfect atmosphere.

Drumming on those old Bathory albums is standard beats played fast. They feature no blastbeats. My guess is you don't like blastbeats.

Well, I like Sarcófago and the Mayhem's EP "Deathcrush". I don't like these 9 min black metal songs with 9 min of blast beats.

But blast beats are great in death metal

Forgot how UNF inducing this project is. As much droning ambient as it is black metal. If I remember correctly this is made by the same guy who did the Have A Nice Life album that everyone loved so much.

That's probably the most black metal and "epic" track on the album. Most of it is meandering, sporadic blackened ambient (or "blambient" as I like to call it)

Hey will someone do me a favor and give their honest opinion on this one-man black metal project? I would like a second or third opinion.

The guy who does it is local and I actually like it from the 4 or 5 songs I've heard.

I shall branch to a newer topic within the BM.......why do people bash on Dimmu Borgir and label them as "Sellout Black Metal"? I find those that do to be a slight bother. Is it because they incorporate more symphonic sounds/orchestras and more keyboards than the "traditional" BM bands such as Gorgoroth and Taake? Or is it just because they are just so successful? Please someone, chat with me about it.

Both, no doubt. Their image and fanbase. And their later work doesn't really sound all that black metal. I think it's silly, of course. But to be honest, I didn't think this debate had been hot for the last ten years.

Agreed, it has died down, but I feel that the topic is still an issue. I think partially because whenever I go to a BM concert there's always those select few "true BM fans" that will "grump" me on my shirts. I shake my head at them.
