Why wouldn't they, VVBryant? Not to get personal at all, but you build your whole fandom identity on this site around one of the most popular bands out there. Why wouldn't other people do the same?
Whether it’s “Best Metal Albums All Time”, “Metal Albums for People Who Don’t Listen to Metal”, “20 Metal Albums Every Music Fan Should Hear” they’re always the same boring picks of about 25 albums you can swap out interchangeably
Post-rock is probably the classical music of our times. i never thought music can be this visual and megalomaniac at the same time. in a good way, lol. So, this thread is to ask and recommend. Next to the big names like GSYBE! and Explosions in the Sky i'd like to mention some not so known, but imo much better bands.
For start, the finnish Magyar Posse. Imagine GSYBE and 70s prog rock combined. then add some humor and some optimism. and you still have no idea about what they sound like. Their best album is Kings of Time, so that should be the first to check out.
Another good band is Boris. i bet they're not unknown in the metal world, but their post-rock side pretty much is. Flood is so good it sometimes makes the guys from GSYBE run for their money.
The 3rd amazing band is MONO. another japanese act, with a more sweeter sound. they have only one album out.
I went through a period of exploring post-rock not so long ago. I found some truly amazing bands that i'd recommend to anyone:
Caspian
Cue
Gifts From Enola
If These Trees Could Talk
Irepress
Maserati (The Language Of Cities is simply superb)
The Evpatoria Report
World's End Girlfriend
You.May.Die.In.The.Desert

I'll add some more bands to this very good list of yours.
Rachel's
Apse
At Silver Mt. Zion (from the guys of GY!BE)
The Album Leaf
Do Make Say Think
Tortoise
Meniscus
If anyone is interested, Russian Circles released their second full length 'Station' yesterday May 6th. From the few songs I've heard it's similar to their debut except seems to have a little "harder" edge. They're touring this summer near hear but are playing at The Riot Room which for some lame reason is 21+ only. (Which is where the KC Power Metal Fest is this summer! Fuck!)
just wanted to mention these guys, as they're indeed amazing. they have only one album out yet, but 4 songs from it are streamable via Last.FM. everyone interested in post-rock should know them tbh.

If These Trees Could Talk are good, but they sound like a weaker version of Pelican tbh. Nothing they've made has sounded fresher or more original than Pelican, but they're still good.
I'd recommend Godspeed You! Black Emperor and Mogwai, other than the afro-mentioned Mono and Sigur Ros. My favorite by a wide margin is Mono, their latest album Hymn to the Immortal Wind is plain beautiful.

I think GY!BE, Mogwai, Mono and Sigur Rós had been mentioned already, anyways, another band I could think of, and I've been into lately is Eksi Ekso, is a post-rock band with vocals.

Then God is not dead.
Lately I've been listening to two post rockmetal bands from Italy, and i liked this type of music, so can any one recommend me a similar bands to these :

They release music for free, and have some great stuff on here. I recommend This is My Normal State, Final Light, Loss of a Child, From the Sky, wecollectskies, I Am the Architect and Noise Room. Also, the before-mentioned sleepmakeswaves has 2 release available as well. It's all free, so check it out.

Seems very interesting, thanks.

So they are both great, amazing, etc. Try listening to a few songs, Pg.lost is instrumental, Immanu El has some very nice vocals. Both very soothing yet bombastic.
Discovered the genre in 2008 by watching a show of Pelican and Torche playing in a local club.
I have to admit that I don't listen to these two bands very much, because I discovered so many other bands in that genre that I prefer.
My fav. will be Long Distance Calling (a band from my hometown)
along with Caspian (seen them live twice)
God Is An Astronaut (love the new album)
This Will Destroy You
Les Discrets
and many others
It's hard to always tell which Genre exactly those bands are
some are post-rock while others are counted as post-metal (Isis, tho they might be clear),
shoegazing, ambient, post-black-metal, post-hardcore...
there are countless hybrid forms.
