Alright, the "10 minute songs" thingy kinda intrigued me. I mean, tracks from their new stuff are boring enough to feel like they're chugging for over 15 minutes, but I'm interested to see what they do with an actual length of 10 minutes. I think even they know you can't repeat the same shitty punk riff for that long...

Fenriz is going to see this, say "Challenge Accepted" and then write a two track full length, with 2 40 minute tracks.

So i got this update : Darkthrone made video for Lesser Men,but it seems like all the videos are in fact random videos of Darkthrone from YT

I like newer Darkthrone but they'll never top what they did from Soulside to Panzerfaust. That said, The Underground Resistance is probably their best album since they stopped playing black metal. The world's just a better place with them than without them.

My opinion on Darkthrone is very simple.

All of their stuff is good.

But yeah, I think I bought that one comp only because of that.

I second that. Darkthrone goes to the loony bin!

I love all Darkthrone honestly.
Their early demo tapes are classic 80's death metal gems for the most part.
Their black metal is cold, raw, and sheer fucking black metal.
Their new stuff is amazing, I won't try to label it with a genre, but it draws elements from crust, heavy metal, classic doom, thrash, and old school black metal.

Overall I like each album for different reasons and that alone is a good reason to classify them as one of my favorite bands. They aren't afraid to experiment, they don't stick to one genre but instead play whatever the hell they want, they have a DIY attitude, and they have survived since the damn 80's and are showing no signs of stopping.

After some BM history lessons, Master Fenriz returns to tells us how drums should sound:

I just couldn't click with 'The Underground Resistance', although I do love a lot of their later stuff (FOAD being a personal favourite). Darkthrone I think are one of my favourite black metal bands, but they certainly have released some rubbish in their time.
