When are Immortal gonna make a movie? If any band deserve to star in a feature film epic, it's Immortal.

I'm not sure what album you are referring to (Hammerfall??) but if you want to get into Immortal I suggest you listen to "At the Heart of Winter" or "Sons of Northern Darkness".

Nope. Totally different styles of music, although you should check out Immortal anyway. Their back catalog is primarily straightforward black metal but they bring a much more atmospheric and even thrashier edge to the mix in their later releases.

No problems, I just thought that checking out some albums and found them kind of raw could lad to you not liking them that much and don't check out the ones that have lots of melody. It's like trainwheels. Hopefully you'll enjoy those two and then you can go back in their discography.

If you want to get discouraged, start with these two. Better yet, start with the debut. You'll probably stop wanting to listen to Immortal completely
If you want to be encouraged to listen to Immortal, go for "At the Heart of Winter" or "Sons of Northern Darkness".

I don't find them over-produced at all. Haven't heard All Shall Fall though. But then again, I really disagree with Daniell. I do think he overreacts to make it sound like the production is soooooooooooooo bad when it fact it's still very clear.

It's just my personal opinion regarding production.

I like my black metal lo-fi, hissy, dirty, and nasty. Don't care for keyboards or added ambient effects to much.

Don't get me wrong, I wasn't bashing on Immortal's later stuff, I love all of their catalog . I just feel that after Blizzard Beasts they went in a much more "thrash" oriented direction.

Already a fan of it

Love the fast songs especially. Being a hardcore punk/grindcore nut, I feel that he matches some of that genre's ferocity at times. Delicious.

I like all of Immortal's stuff.

My favorite still tends to be Diabolical Fullmoon Mysticism
