Why there is 5 or 6 strings bass guitars? is it better than 4 strings bass?

4 string basses you have limited range with a 5 or 6 you have a wider range of notes to play. I have both a 4 and 5 string and I actually play my 5 string more just for the simple fact that I am letting my 4 string collect monetary value since it was discontinued by gibson.

The best thing to do is go to a music shop and try some out. Then you can get a feel for something that you would like. preferably I would go with Ibanez, ESP/LTD, or Fernandes
