But aren't they Melodic Death Metal and not Extreme Power Metal?

Sorry, I made a mistake. I'm quite new to Extreme power metal and only know of COB. I was going to say Celtic Frost but they aren't EPM. Could you recommend any good extreme power metal bands?

sure... check out Kalmah. They are my favorite in the genre. I don't like Norther much, but they are rather popular. Wintersun have a mystic following and are literally drooled over, but I don't like them either. But you definitely have to check Eternal Tears Of Sorrow out, especially their masterpiece A Virgin and a Whore.

I can't decide between - Kalmah - and - Wintersun -
They're both really good bands even tho Wintersun has only one album (BEEN WAITING ALMOST 3 YEARS FOR TIME !!!)

But on the other hand - "to be famous" should be understood like "to be good" in some way...good production also counts though musically there could be better bands...

Hell, I read wrong. I thought he voted on COB because they're famous

I Vote for Kalmah, they are incredible even though I dont enjoy their albums since the Black Waltz

Well I don't really agree, it could be correct in some cases, but could just as easily be wrong in other cases. Anyway that goes back to how you define good music and that is subjective, soo..

It is how you define "good band"...you can either judge bands by stuff they produce or by numbers they have as income...

Well obviously if a band sells it has to be good in some way ...

but then again, music tastes are all a matter of opinions, what is good for someone might be bad for another.

But you cannot wondering about CoB leading this poll by mile...

I voted Wintersun because I see COB as melodic death/thrash or something.

Children of Bodom certainly didn't start it....Kalmah (as Ancestor) had this sound at about the same time as them.

I think Kalmah is way better than Cob.Kalmah never dissapoint in their albums.First comes Kalmah,then Ensiferum, and then Wintersun in my list.

COB were the first, they creaed this genre, so they have my vote. I didn't like AYDY but Bloodrunk had good songs, so I think they're still able to suprise us with the next album!
