Maybe kebap and kebab are different things, Marcel.
I certainly hope so.
But afraid not since kebap as spelling is used here in the Netherlands from timt to time to depict kebab

that is totally ridiculous, that's just a normal vegetable sandwich. That has totally nothing to do with an type of kebab whatsoever. Might as well call it a burger then.
I care about the misuse of such words because I LOVE my meat and the way it is prepared.
Hey, if it makes you feel better. If you took the first sentence of the first paragraph of wikipedia's article you might as well read the last two as well.
Kebap = kebab = kabob. It's the same thing, but here most huts have the ''p'' in the ending.

I actually have to agree with her a bit. We do have vegetarian kebabs here. Its basically veggies prepared the same way as kebab is.

Anyone in their right mind wouldn''t mean anything remotely vegetarian when mentioning kebab Just like when I say a roadt of lamb or side of beef I am totally not referring to anything vegetarian

And if they do... It either ends up being a word misuse or an abomination like that Tofurkey.

nah thought I tried the soup with beef tendons and tripes and it's awesome. Another one that peeks my interest is the shark fin soup.

shark fin soup? Hopefully it isn't real sharks' fins cause last time I checked that dish is seeing to it that a lot of types of sharks are now on the endangered species list. Better to try snake, cat and dog dishes still enough of those buggers around.
Btw I have had snake, dog and cat dishes. And all tasted great. Also had true sharks' fin soup back in the day, tasted great but was bloody expensive. More than 30 Singapore dollar a bowl (equivalent to about 15 euros) and that back in the early Eighties.

I couldn't bring myself to eating a dog or cat.
Rabbits on the other hand are very tasty
I've always wanted to try frog legs and bats as well. Snake would be interesting.
What is the weirdest thing people have eaten here? Anyone done the whole chinese insect meals? Roaches, crickets and such on a stick. Obviously anything on a stick is a lot better

frog legs are totally awesome as are snails in garlic.
There is a thread somewhere on weirdest stuff people have eaten.
I have eaten loads of insects, both on and off a stick. It's not just limited to the Chinese, also had it in South Africa and Mexico. In Mexico go grashoppers fried in chili or garlic quite often as a side dish with my beers. Great beer snak they make.

Have you tried Fugu? If not you should have it as the last dish on your list considering how deadly it can be if not prepared properly. .P

Every Japanese cook that wants to prepare Fugu a.k.a. puffer fish must take an exam. The final part of the exam is the consumption - the cook needs to eat what he made. This is a very good precaution to make sure that cooks actually learn how to do this lethal delicacy.
