Frightmare is alright, like a happy version of Repulsion mixed with Exhumed (most bands on Razorback Records sound the same lol, but they're still a badass label), but I prefer my grindcore to either be mostly punk or as brutal as possible. Actually, there's quite a few grindcore bands from the Northwest, usually more on the punk/power violence side of grindcore, like Funerot, Bung (I'm not too big on this band, but they seem to be oddly popular so who knows...), and (old) Engorged.

uuuugh now I gotta explain some things before you say certain bands suck:

- GUT: Only check out their old splits/7" releases and Odour of Torture. Everything after is completely gay. They went from porngrind (they were the first) to rapgore. Yeah...it's that bad.

- Last Days of Humanity: most of their splits and shit like that are good, but the best album to try is The Sound of Rancid Juices Sloshing Around Your Coffin. The newest album isn't that great. Many people prefer Hymns of Indigestible Suppuration though.

- Pig Destroyer: like most grind bands, these guys are best to check out by playing an entire full length rather than searching for clips. The best is Prowler in the Yard, but you really can't go wrong with this band.

Since you like old school grind, you should love Insect Warfare - they sound fairly similar to old Terrorizer, but still fresh. Also, try Kill The Client. The newest album, Cleptocracy, should be the best grindcore album of the year. Another one to check out is the Screaming Afterbirth/Stoma split that was released last year. If you don't like those, then PM me and I will find something you'll like.

I voted old skool because of Napalm Death, Extreme Noise Terror and Terrorizer, but I like all subs.
