Can't believe there hasn't been a topic about one of metal's most extreme bands.

Discog:

Anaal Nathrakh (demo) - 1999
Total Fucking Necro (demo) - 1999
The Codex Necro - 2001
Total Fucking Necro (comp.) - 2002
When Fire Rains Down From The Sky, Mankind Will Reap As It Has Sown (EP) - 2003
Domine Non Es Dignus - 2004
Eschaton - 2006
Hell Is Empty And All The Devils Are Here - 2007

Personally, I think their newest offering, Hell Is Empty..., is their best album since The Codex Necro.

The solo of the song Der Hölle Rache Kocht In Meinem Herzen is so amazing, very catchy. I own only 2 last full length of this band. I wonder if the previous stuff also have epic element or clean vocal?

Total Fucking Necro and The Codex Necro are extremely grind/black. The first signs of epic elements/clean vocals come at Domine Non Es Dignus!

Thank you, for the information. by the way, are you Mankvill in the official forum of Anaal Nathrakh?

I am!

I TOTALLY dislike everything they've done since The Codex Necro! (hell,I know everyone likes three new album, but I don't)

And why? Well:

- losing brutality (totally)
- using clean vocals
- don't sound evil and grim like they use to be
- they didn't follow they own rules (not performing live, not having band photos, and yes, they published lyrics for one song,etc...)
- music is only very fast, with good riff here and there...but nothing else

So I don't listen that albums.Only good thing about them is cool song names, like "Wish I Could Vomit Blood on You... ...People".

But TCN and TFN...damn...I think that only one band can top them by brutality, and that is The Axis Of Perdition.

I disagree, although nothing they've done can even TOUCH the brutality of The Codex Necro.

Also: what song have they published lyrics for? If you mean Rage, Rage Against The Dying Of The Light, those aren't the actual lyrics.

I usually hate clean vocals in metal unless it's a genre where it's okay (NWOBHM, Power, etc.)

I don't like power and heavy (all bands and without exception) because many reasons but clean vocals are main.

In just few metal bands I can stand clean...like classic doom bands Godsend or Reverend Bizarre.

The clean vocal is very important for Anaal Nathrakh IMO, because it creats the epic atmosphere. They fuse both extreme and epic very harmonizedly.

I think it makes it sound more like a 22nd century genocide machine.

If you mean like albums, try some site like Amazon. But your best bet would be going with the FETO records website.

Hmm, have no experience or knowledge about those. Yet I think it would be possible, since we're talking 'digital' money here. Converting shouldn't be a real problem. Best ask your creditcard company and as I've said, contact the European distro.

Just look up a currency converter and when you buy it (at least through paypal), it will automatically convert from US dollars to UK pounds. Or Euros. Whatever.

yay I FINALLY heard the new album! It is fucking great, but I wish they used more of those bloodcurdling high screams that they used to always have. I love the vocal experimentation though.

The song with Joe Horvath....omfg....

Their newest piece of work is fantastic. A bit different than their earlier works yes, and definitely not as brutal as Codex, but it's great in it's own right. One of my favorite of 2007.

Mistress is a great sludgey/grindy band. They've actually officially disbanded, but you can order their stuff off of the FETO (Mick Kenny's record label) website.

My fav. Mistress album is Glory Bitches of Doghead.

one of my favourite bands right now, Mick is a very good musician and I love his works, but I think they need something new to their sound. the last album is a killer though.
