Wallachia - Monumental Heresy

Now before you accuse Wallachia of meddling too much in older sounds and late second-wave black metal influences instead of furthering the genre, just know that they've been around for quite a while. So that explains it.

Bands
Sanhedrin

Formed in 2015 by New York heavy music veterans Erica Stoltz (ex-Lost Goat, ex-Amber Asylum), Jeremy Sosville (also of Black Anvil), and Nathan Honor (ex-Vermefug), Sanhedrin's sound is familiar but not derivative. A band rooted in classic heavy metal and hard rock, but unafraid to cross genre boundaries. Lyrically, Sanhedrin often forgoes the traditional fantasy-based themes found in much heavy metal in favor of more real-life themes of inner struggle and social commentary.

2015 saw the release of their cassette demo, followed by several shows in 2016. Sharing bills with Acid King, Satan ,Magic Circle, Khemmis, and many others, Sanhedrin have always held their own with tight, high-intensity performances. In October of 2017, Sanhedrin released their acclaimed debut LP "A Funeral For The World". Tracked and mixed at Menegroth Studios in Queens, NY by renowned engineer Colin Marston, this LP is a collection of 8 songs spanning a wide array of emotions and sounds.

A year later the band perfected their sound with their second EP "II", produced by Jacob Bredahl and released in 2015. Both EPs were well received and drove them on to do some emphatic live shows which were praised by the press.

Bands
Summon

Summon emerged in late 2016 in a gathering between N. and R. in which they decided to follow a sonority that transcends their souls, and where they could give it a more cavernous feel, with an intensity of deep agony. Shortly thereafter, N. decides to move forward with composite themes, and then they decide to call J. to seal the covenant of a deadly entity. The lyrics are in charge of N. in which he invokes all the blackness and splendor of Death, the burden of enduring and wandering in a world of human flesh, and the infinite thirst for mass slaughter converting mankind into a cloak of bones. Death is our guide, and we are His scythe.
