Atlanta, Georgia post-metallers Irreversible have released some info about their upcoming new album Surface. According to the group, their new album Surface is in the final stages of mixing and mastering. It will contain 3 songs and be just over 40 minutes. Former The Ocean drummer Jan Oberg and his neat little band from Berlin, Germany, Earthship, have exploded onto the sludge/stoner landscape with their third release, Withered - a short but substantial 30-minute piece of music that's broken down to 10 archaic and bludgeoning riff clinics. The tunes are catchy, likable, and most of all, heavy.

Earthship

Earthship surge ahead like a nuclear-powered icebreaker through the Barents Sea, laden with mighty riffs, tons of groove, and home-brewed whiskey.

Earthship was launched by former The Ocean drummer Jan Oberg in 2010, who was joined by his colleagues Dennis Boettcher (drums) and Bastian Gutschke (bass) after a long drinking night in Berlin. The Ocean main-man Robin Staps joined the band as a secondary guitarist shortly afterwards. "I have not been involved in the songwriting at all though, it is entirely Jan's creative work", comments Staps.
