I always knew you were too much of a retard to count to 100
I agree with pretty much everything [I have to check 2-3 bands though] It surprises me that Weakling is there since I think that Lurker Of Chalice is superior [both albums use to be compared] But yeah... Without comparing it, Dead As Dreams is still a very very good album. |

Which ones? If Reverorum Ib Malacht is one of them, check it out. It's only a demo, but some of the most haunting Black metal EVER.
@Momo hahah yeah, maybe, we'll see.  |

No band twice? lol. check yer top six again. there might be space for Lurker yet...
good chunk of your 20 made my 100. or would have if i took eps (DSO... kenose is my first/fave, but omitted on mine) |

Hahaha how funny that I maked a hole in your list just by pointing out one band, it wasn't my intention btw

Yeah, one of them is Reverorum Ib Malacht I will check them out because the description that I got from MA says that this swedes seem to be awesome.
The other ones were Lykathea Aflame and Teitanblood... Although I knew Teitanblood but I just forgot their name so now I know how they sound like and agree with them being in the list.

He said that he was able to break his own rules But I agree... You can take out Halmstad which is a wonderful album but Lurker Of Chalice is totally worth it. |

| Love seeing WSWS so high, since it's probably #1 for me. Surprisingly haven't heard several of these so I need to get on that. |

Great list and I could guess about 40 % of the albums before I saw it. |

Hey!
I want to know why you didn't thought about this bands:
* Funeral Mist
* A Forest Of Stars
* Ondskapt
* Behemoth
* Lifelover
* Pensées Nocturnes
* Skepticism
* Shape Of Despair
Of course those don't need to be in the 20 best cds of the decade... But they easily deserve some praise in the list of top 100! Overlooked list!!! |

I quite understand your opinion about Pensées Nocturnes. I remember your opinion in the review... Even though I disagree with your opinion I understand that it's not the very best.
And well... You hate Lifelover, so I'm not gonna take your opinion very seriously |

Funeral Mist is good, but not good enough to belong on a best-of list imo. A Forest Of Stars is amazing but I really need to be 'in the mood' for their stuff and I rarely am. Ondskapt = Funeral Mist reason. Behemoth's best album is Sventevith imo, although I hold Thelema.6 very close. It's not 'best of' imo though, simply very personal.
Lifelover... I don't know, it's all good, but for some reason I don't really want to see them on this list. Pensées Nocturnes is good but not good enough. Skepticism's best album is Stormcrowfleet. Could've nominated Alloy but it feels wrong because of Stormcrowfleet.
That's basically it.  |

You could also have nominated Farmakon which imo is better than Alloy and comes very close to Stormcrowfleet (still their best though) |

Funny because it's true, uh? Thanks for the compliment, always glad to make other's blogs a bit more amusing.
___
I understand your reasons... I think I just wrote that list because deep inside I also want to make a list of the best cds of the decade but I feel way too intimated for doing that and a review* is already a big deal for me so a top-list, no thank you
*I already have some lines in my head for the Eyehategod review... |

Wow...on second glance I realize I've only heard 3 of those, I suck.
(Not including Oranssi Pazuzu, which I heard for the first time a few days ago.) |

Only three? My god, you guys ARE mainstream.
At least I heard 18 of the 20 But he does overrate quite a few though: the Shining one... IV The Eerie Cold is just way better. But that isn't as bad as mentioning The Ruins Of Beverast and Oranssi Pazuzu in the top 20 of the decade. |

[b]01. Esoteric - The Maniacal Vale
11. Darkspace - III
13. Ahab - The Call Of The Wretched Sea
are the ones I listened.I still plan to chech Oransi Pazuzu though. But, seeing how much I love balck metal, and how I was bored to tears by the previous Earth release, I didn't feel any imperious need to check these ones.
Maybe I should, and probably I will... for some. |

I'm North American...that's my excuse. Besides, I know a lot of underground Canadian stuff pretty well, European is a bit harder to get into seeing as most of our CD stores here suck ass, and I don't have money to go to online distros at the moment.
EDIT: I also do have a few underground releases in my list... |

Yeah. I understand about Lifelover. They're good, they're music just seems to "get old" after a while so-to-speak. I can go a week where I listen to their albums a lot and then I won't for many months.
Good list btw, as I've heard most and quite agree. |
