12:29 - Redn1ght Shmyt, true. But then again there's not many of those sorts of classics/comparable in the modern metal that new people could enjoy easily. ;)
11:50 - Bad English anyway going back to work soom, see you tommrow
11:30 - Bad English finaly I got 2.5h brake in a work ;D
11:13 - Shmyt well to be fair, how many people were told "oh, you want to listen to some good metal? try (insert classic here)." It's easy to recommend the old gold because its been around so long you've likely even heard it before you knew
10:02 - Risto Yeah, there are still albums being released that are easily as good as the top 200 of this site
09:31 - Lethrokai ...albums released from that point are more likely to have lower ratings. (+vote abusing has become more noticeable...) It's a pattern you'll find on most music rating sites.
09:27 - Lethrokai Eh, the rise in popularity of the internet explains that best. New albums are always judged more harshly upon their initial release, and as such with more people to judge those new albums due to the rise in internet popularity...
This is the first of a series of mini guitar lessons. Thanks to everyone who watched. I hope you got something out of it, even if it was just laughing at my funny face. I always wanted to do something to give back to the community to which I've been a part of these last eight years. It is my goal, not so much to teach the basics or to teach someone to play guitar from scratch, but to give some of the cool little tips and tricks I've picked up along the way. Stuff that either I wish I knew back when I was learning or stuff that when I learned I thought, "man, I never would have thought of that." If you are interested in pursuing more of the techniques and theories more in depth, I do offer online Skype guitar lessons. Feel free to contact me about them.
I am by no means the end all, be all, of guitar knowledge. I'm just someone who loves music, loves to play and trade new and cool ideas. The goal is to grow and be a better musician and these communities are amazing bastions of support and knowledge that it would be criminal not to share. As of now, I have about ten lessons queued up, and will post about once a week. When those are over, I'm hoping to continue with new ideas and further some of the ones already put forward. In the meantime, I will be watching the Musicians Corner forum more and will try to answer more questions, clarifications, and fix any mistakes. There might a few. This first video was made a while ago with an old camera. All following videos are of much higher quality. Enjoy.
About a week ago, I found out I focused too much on the lead playing for quite some time and my rythm quite sucks even on the low level of guitar skill that I'm on . So.. thanks a lot for this! You couldn't have possibly posted it at better time. Looking forward for more in the future.
