Mediocre selection of videos (or was there nothing else to put up?)
Insomnium the only decent one.
silenius - 15.10.2011 at 13:53
The intro to the rogue male song got me thinking it where gonna be some amazing onslaught of industrial deathmetal, but instead...shit, pure shit.

Not meaning to open up a whole genre debate here, but there wasn't a whole lot to differentiate that KillMatriarch song from pop music.

I actually wonder how the hell Doc get that video from, it's completely not metal related..... and just plain awful.
Chick is quite hot though.

Insomnium's video is one of the most wonderful metal videos I've ever seen.

Exactly my thoughts.

But I don't get what people like that much about Insomniums video, nothing there that would stop me from alt-tabbing and just listening. On the other hand, I really like the one for Juular.

yea the only video that´s something worth watching is the Juular video(love that song), the others are just normal ´´ hey watch us stand and mime to our new song in a random place´´

You haven't seen a lot of videos right?
No offense, it's just that it's awfully unoriginal, prety much like most of the videos on this list where band x mime their song in place Y.

I've seen my share, but these are the videos I like best. Metal videos usually have horrifying acting and that shit. When a nice band x plays in awesome place y without any bad Patric Ullaeus effects... I'm amazed.

Out of all the songs on Devin Townsend's "deconstruction", they made a video for the filler. a rather confusing video at that.

Amazed? You are quite easily impressed then... Or have low standards for what is a good video

For me videos are like movies, sometimes I couldn't give a rat ass for the visuals... If the plot (or in this case what's going on in the video) is bland, unoriginal and just meh... then it sucks no matter how pretty it looks (I'm looking at you James Cameron)... Under that criticism... All the videos in this case were either meh or just plain awful, pretty much like Doc Godin said in the introduction.

Tastes are a weird thing.

Yeah, but most metal videos have either really bad or really bad carried out plots, so I view them as a bad thing in metal videos so this was just a misunderstanding.

I also think most metal videos that try to be "intelligent" fucking sucks so we are pretty much in the same boat on that.

Same here. If you have to try to be something, you're probably not

I also really liked Insomniums video, i dont think its the best video ever cuz it is really basic, but it still is a very good video.

I think difference here is when place Y fits the mood of the song like CoB in the abandoned wharehouse Trashed, lost video, and insomnium in the forest. when they play ina generic place, like Rhapsody playing ina white room or "live" videos yeah then it can be boring and just seems lazy.

But ive been listening to Insomnium since there debut and have always attached them to the forest(its one of their lyrical themes) so its awsome to see it finally visually portrayed as well musically. and thats all i want from music videos, its better than some random storyline thrown in and poorly acted out while you listen to the music that in your mind doesnt represent what your seeing

SHATTERED. LIKE. GLASS.

Fucking masterpiece right there
Troy Killjoy - 03.11.2011 at 23:07
The phrase "shattered like glass" reminds me of The Absence.

With a voice like glass / born to splint and shatter / the touch of sunlight / like Heaven's plague, the birth of black
Sulac - 05.11.2011 at 23:30
Mmmm, The Absence. Damn good band. \m/ Their singer has an awesome beard, too.
