05:38 - ScreamingSteelUS I wouldn't go that far, but I agree they can be repetitive. For me, it's one of those cases of "if it ain't broke, don't fix it." "Twilight of the Thunder God" may be my favorite, though.
05:36 - deadone I've never liked them that much, other than Twilight of the Thunder God. Their albums come across as repetitive and monotonous and all sound remarkebly similar. AC/DC and Cannibal Corpse seem like Jethro Tull in LSD on comparison.
05:29 - ScreamingSteelUS I think it's because they are just one of the biggest names in the awards. I love Amon Amarth, but "Deceiver of the Gods" was tied for third place in that category for me.
05:25 - deadone I think Amon Amarth rule the melodeath cause not much interesting is coming out of that genre.
05:21 - Shasta Wicked Waltz just released their new full length album, Perseverance, featuring Casey Grillo from Kamelot. I would love to know what you think about it. post on their Facebook page
05:15 - ScreamingSteelUS Dudes. Since the MS Awards began, every Amon Amarth album has swept the Melodeath/Gothenburg/Ext reme Power category. They have five wins in ten years of MS Awards. That has to be some kind of record.
The sound isn't perfect, but it's the best you're going to get.
There was a lot of background noise, there always is backstage at a festival. As long as you can understand it, that is all that matters.
There shouldn't be any constant noise. If there is it is either youtube's or your fault.
Besides doing really great music, the band seems to be very cool.
Helge Stang is very talkative and I have the impression that Manu Di Camillo cannot place one sentence. I know that Helge Stang is the frontman and he holds the microphone during the shows, so he could lend it to the other members during the interviews .
More seriously, thanks for this interview Barry and good job.
