Here we have another album that will make you say "originality? L O L."

The only thing more savage, brutal, and vicious than Singapore's penal system is some of the music that's coming out of its underground at the moment. Take Absence Of The Sacred as an example. Their new album Come Hither O Herald Of Death (which apparently is indeed new and didn't come out in 2009...) is a brutal, technical slab of death metal with some thrash elements thrown on top. Or, in other words, you'll be hearing riffs, more riffs, and some more fucking riffs on this thing.

Sure, it is heard it before kind of stuff, but it's heard it before kind of stuff that's executed not only well, but damn close to expertly. These guys can really shred. Their brand of tech death is?and is through and through--high end, classy-tits stuff. And even though the quality of the production here is pretty terrible (the drumming, in particular, comes out sounding injured), you'll definitely find yourself making rabid animal noises and convulsing madly throughout this album. This will make for a good soundtrack the next time you're feeling too, you know, sane. You'll be too busy losing it to reflect on how much better it could have been with some meatier mixing. It's got the bang, the wank, and the "I'm going to eat you alive" down to a technical, ethically-questionable science.

If you enjoy your tech death with a little thrash slop and some slams, you'll enjoy this.
