I don't know how all of you feel, but when I like something, I just want more. And I think is a pretty common feeling among human beings. So, let me ask you, do you like Dark Tranquillity? (if you don't, stop reading this right now) So, if you like them, won't you like to hear more new songs from them? Yes, good, bear with me a little longer, but if they can't release so often new albums, would you like something that sounds like Dark Tranquillity, just to satiate your crave for more Swedish Melodeath? If you do, well let me introduce you to ELOHIM.

Hmm I think I made a mistake, because now I made ELOHIM look like a Dark Tranquillity Copycat! Let me correct, "sounds like" is very different than being a copycat, this young Swedes take influences from the kings of the Gothenburg scene and they try to add as much personal elements as they can. Do they succeed? Yes, yes and yes.

Let's dig in together, after a short keyboard intro, "haunted" comes riffing his way in with double guitar assault, this song is the most Dark Tranquillity-esque of the Cd, and I wasn't surprised with this, but it all changed when "Adjusting The Sun" came in, what a great song, melodic riffing, some clean singing reminiscent of any Goth band (sung in a very low tone), and the chorus line will stick in your mind for weeks!

I was satisfied with that, excellent song, is the kind of song that make an album worth buying, but then it came the next song "The Unknown Part" slow piano intro, instruments make their appearance at mid-tempo , then a high shriek? let the mayhem begin, another great song, excellent keyboard use (even a solo!), aggression, insane riffing, I could get used to this band very quickly!

Now I'm excited about this Cd! I want more, if the first song doesn't impressed me, the other ones did! But now I'm afraid? if the last song sucks? We'll have 1 ok song, 2 excellent songs and 1 bad song? I shall affront my fears now! "Cloaked" is the name of the closer, and my fears were extinguished, a fast paced song, with trashy moments here and there, some slow parts and another catchy chorus, Great song too!

So I really liked this one, I has some flaws in the production (the drum sounds weird), but as I always say, it's only a Demo! They have a lot of room for improvement, I wish they use more often the clear vocals, they're great, gives a "Gothic" touch to the band. So, what if they sound like DT? Let them find their own sound, until then, best of lucks!
