"Stream Of Hate" is the 2nd release of the Bulgarian Black Metal combo Reunion. These ex-members of Dark Inversion (a Bulgarian combo too) chose to produce their own as a duet. The result is basic Black Metal, not so bad actually but it unfortunately lacks originality.

That's always the same problem nowadays, we can find good releases, there is a lot of good new CDs everyday, but when it comes to something original? good luck. That's the main problem of "Stream Of Hate," the music is not bad, this is a good aggressive Black Metal with really dark ambiances and powerful vocals. Also I really enjoy some "melodic" breaks on some songs and the production is not really bad even if it is really minimalist. But on the other side, where is the originality here? I mean we can listen to a lot of similar albums every day and it's a problem especially when you don't want to stay in the land of Underground Metal.

I suppose that the real fans of Black Metal can find a real interest in this album, but someone that is looking for something a bit uncommon unfortunatly won't find a lot of interest in this album. That's not unpleasant to listen to "Stream Of Hate," but it's too common for me at least and after 2 or 3 listenings, I'm sure that I will forget this album. That's sad, but today if you're not able to produce something new, something that will amaze the listeners, that's not good?

At the end, it will be hard for Reunion to find a lot of success with this "Stream Of Hate." Remember it one more time, I don't talk about the quality here that's not bad at all, but about the originality that is inexistent on this release. This is too basic for me, and except if you're a diehard fan of this kind of music, it will be hard to find a real interest in this album. Let's hope that we will have something different and with a lot more personality on their upcoming albums.
