"Inner Mental Disorder," the first EP of the Bulgarian band Act Of Grotesque, is actually a really nice surprise especially if you like to listen to a good old Death Metal album. As you can understand, Act Of Grotesque plays good Death Metal that doesn't suffer any comparison with a lot of confirmed bands of the style, and that's a promising thing for the band evidently.

"Inner Mental Disorder" is only a EP, but that's not so easy to find a lot of bands that are able to release this kind of "first album." Act Of Grotesque is promising in my opinion, because they know how to play good Death Metal with a lot of original sonorities. The three songs of the EP are all really effective with a lot of great aggressive guitars riffs. You can also find fast and slow tempos on this album, that's interesting. The numerous breaks that you can find in this CD are a good thing for me; also Act Of Grotesque knows how to create nice melodies (in the true Death Metal spirit however? I don't talk about Gothenburg Death here).

With a good production and artwork, "Inner Mental Disorder" gives me some serious hopes for the future of the band. But evidently they will have to confirm the potential we find on this album. I think anyway that this good album is not an hazardous release and we will probably hear about this band in the near future.

There is a lot of potential here and Act Of Grotesque could become one of the leader of the Bulgarian Metal scene if they know how to create a real first album in the spirit of this EP. The future will probably talk?
