Maybe this band is unknown to you, to me and to many people around the world, but that's not the way it is on Poland, where Closterkeller are quite popular. They're popular, I think, because 2 reasons: first, they've been around for quite a while now (their first album being released in 1989), and second, they combine Gothic Metal/Rock with Pop music, so they have a broader audience, thus becoming popular. Damn I'm intelligent.

So, I have in my hands Nero, the latest album from these Polish guys? and a girl (the vocalist), yes? I know what you're going to say, "oh no, another female fronted Gothic Metal band from Poland", and I shall remain silent, because, and as a matter of fact, this IS a female fronted Gothic Metal band from Poland.

The thing with Closterkeller, is that this can't be classified as Metal, sure it has some distorted guitars here and there, but mostly this is electro pop music, sure the Metal influences are there, but you can't headbang with this even if you're drunk, and that my dear readers brings us to our next point, you CAN'T headbang all the time, poor neck! Ouch! So that's why we need these kind of albums once in a while, to relax our necks! That's right! And when non-metal visits come home also.

Well, this album will be only played when non-Metal visits come home, and well, I can't think a reason why I must play this, is not exactly my cup of tea really, too "Pop" for my tastes, Goth boys and girls: you might like this, as for the rest of us, if we want to play something soothing and calm, well, we'll play the latest Anathema album.
