Another description of the winter season by Vintersorg - but before describing this, I'd like to tell you just how fast the last 23 years have passed for Vintersorg in the sight of metal music. During that time, Vintersorg has always proven its originality and roots, so let's go back to the first days of the band's presence in 1998, after the release of an EP, to the band's first album, Till Fjälls Del I: an album composed of folk and black metal that, with cheeky riffs and beautiful melodies, from the very first days made the toughest fans come out for the band.

Till Fjälls Del II is a continuation. After about 20 years, Till Fjälls Del I is a movement to conquer the mountains, mountains, skyscrapers, Scandinavian mountains, frozen mountains, and? if you were to compare metal music to an object in nature, what would that object be? In my opinion, the mountain is one of the best things to use to describe metal: proud, enduring.

But apart from my sense of the theme of the album and this band, the music that is presented in the form of this album is frank and listenable and dictates from its very first moments to the listener. It has swift, rapid, and technical drumming with cool and proud vocals that are always in Swedish; but in addition to general descriptions, I must say that, like other nature-oriented albums, this one is also packed with numerous layers of sound that will gradually become more snow-covered and denser and will make it difficult to distinguish and differentiate the sounds of different instruments. But this does not cover the overall rhythms of the album, which are quite obvious and full of innovation.

As I was listening to the album, the use of classical and symphonic music were as dynamic as possible to pave the path for a distinct rhythm. In Till Fjälls Del II, this is clearly evident, especially if you consider how fluid the album has to be by the start of the second half to create an innovative atmosphere. The music cannot be accused of changing style and method, but rather the rhythms are actually changed whenever a shift in sound is needed, and despite the long tracks, the album never repeats.

The flood of sounds that begins from the first track sometimes comes down and possesses a Scandinavian air; in fact, a selection of electric and classical guitars and the pacing of the album are positively frozen. They are arranged with elegance and high accuracy, working together like clockwork. The band spent a lot of time on this album.

Finally, I want to say that Vintersorg's narrative of the winter season is like ice, snow, a remarkable, technical, and innovative melodic mountain, looking like an astounding aurora and not merely transmitting the colors of repetition to the listener, because the lyrics and tunes are fresh and new. If it's not the best album this year, it's definitely one of the best, and certainly the best album for vocals.

Well yes nature is important in this band career, to understand it you should live in area where he comes from. Its funny how he can put lyrics, nature and music in one and it fits good together.

I totally agree with you. This genre and this type of music allow me to get familiar with other areas and customs. Meanwhile, in my country there are many mountains that allow me to get a better understanding of the content of some albums like Till Fjälls Del.

Yes but you have no darkness in winter 24h during winter time, sun shine 22h per day during summer and Skellefteå where Vintersorg comes from is still equal !
