In all my years as a metalhead, I think this is the first time I've heard a band from Central America, I think I've heard from every continent , hmm let's see.. Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia, North America, South America? yep, only Central America was missing.

I'm really impressed with this little demo that came all the way here, because in South America we don't get to listen too much melodic metal bands, mostly is all brutal stuff, so I thought that in Central America the situation would be the same, but no, no, NO.

Evening Star plays Power Metal, with a "dark" touch, given mostly by the atmosphere created by the keyboards, while the production isn't top-notch, the "rarity" value compensates this greatly.

The Demo only contains 4 songs, so lets go one by one, shall we?
"Labrynth of Fears" (I know that is Labyrinth, but his guys spelled it that way) is your typical fast paced opener, with some calm moments, and a catchy chorus, the vocals are pretty good but sadly, they're thrown in the mix too in the back, sometimes the vocalist uses a more aggressive, almost growly voice, that one fits the music much better!

"The Calling" has a slow start, kinda creepy, then becomes this mid-paced song with some fast parts, good arrangements on this, the keyboards really boost up the song. "Turn Of the Tide" is a piano & voice only song, you might think that is a very romantic song, but you're sadly mistaken, the piano is not romantic, is mysterious, eerie. The demo closes with "Evening Star" a instrumental track, that starts with yet another creepy piano line, the song slowly builds up, but sadly enough, too slowly, you get to hear a real glimpse of the song at the 3.30 mark (it's a 5.30 song) before that is like an introduction, anyway once you get there, is a damn good song.

Well, at the end we have a good above average demo, from a country that we rarely see Metal bands. My advise, contact these guys and get this one fast, i hope they get a record deal, because I'll place my bet on these guys.
