This must be the most boring cover ever, I mean, what's the point with an almost totally blue cover with just the band name, the album name, lightning's and some strange symbols? Nothing to watch, I mean, a bit of the fun with a new album is to look at the cover, to sunk deep into the mind and try to find out why the band choose the cover that they did, and what's it symbolise.
I hoped, before I let the album spin in my stereo that the endless blue wouldn't mean that the album would be monotonous.
So, is it monotonous? Well, sometimes but overall a really pleasant release, it's not bringing anything new into the scene, but still better then many Power releases lately.

The drummer Ross Lukather formed Shining Fury back in 2001 in order to create fast and melodic metal. With a lot of experience (played in bands like Death SS, Labyrinth (Tour Support), Athena) he knew a lot of people that would make a fine band.
He completed the band with Tommy Pellegrini, guitar (Nightmarish, Strange Illusion).
Alessandro Cola, Bass (Nightmarish, Strange Illusion, No Quartet, and helped Mandragora Scream on their Nuclear Blast release).
Francesco Neretti, Vocals (Profondo Porpora, Athena).
Francesco Chelini (nicknamed Toniello) on second guitar.

So how does this debut from the Italy band sounds like? Well, it's Power Metal, but not Power Metal about dragons and swords; no this is reality Power Metal.
I can't say what the songs are about, 'cause I got no lyrics, but it sounds like it's about love and relationships, which makes it a bit more interesting, there isn't too many Power releases with that theme today, even if it's coming more and more.

My first reaction, just after a spin or two, wasn't to good, I couldn't get into the songs really and all sounded almost the same, but now, when I have listen to the album some more, it's sounding much better, this is a album that's have to grow into you, it's no album that you will think "Wow, what an album" after the first spin.
And I think it's more for those people that are really into Power Metal, I don't think a guy, half interested in Power would find any joy in this one.

Shining Fury have done a hell of a song in "Memories", the song stats with a two minutes argue between a man and a woman, about their relationship, and it's containing trumpets in a nice way. It's an 8minute long ballad, the "star" of the album, in my eyes.
It is a hell of a song, and the "argue" in the beginning gives it a more reality feeling.

First I didn't like Francesco Neretti (The singer) so much, I found him quite weak, but after listen to the album some more, I have change my mind, he is a very good singer, and he doesn't try to be anyone else, he is Francesco Neretti and not Halford or Dickinson.
His work on the last song of the album, the Toto cover "Rosanna" is tremendous.

So, to sum it all, this is the debut of the new Italian Power Metal band Shining Fury, a quite pleasant debut, that's not bringing anything new into Metal but still is very enjoyable, with much feelings. An album for those that's more into Power Metal.
But I recommend you to give them a chance, and do not give up hope about them after just a spin or two, they have to get at least 5 or 6 spins before the album get to you.

Favorite Songs: "Memories" !!!!!!!, "060501" & "Rosanna".
