The first thing that came to my mind was the great title this album has, "The Sound That Ends Creation", what I didn't know was that the title was much more than just a title, it almost speaks the truth, at least in my little world.
Because what I didn't know before putting this into my player was what genre the guys played, since they was signed with Earache I first guessed more brutal Death and just took the album and started listen.

When the music then started it was Nu-Metal that came out of my speakers not the Brutal Death I thought it should be, and I just took out the album right away, I really couldn't take it that day.
It took me some days before I gave the album it's first real spin and started to prepare for this review.

Society 1 comes from USA, hard to imagine huh?
They play Nu-Metal in almost the same school as bands like Marilyn Manson, Static X and alike. And it's absolutely nothing I would listen to if this album hadn't been sent to me.
But since this kind of music is popular today, above all in the States, I'm not that surprised that Earache has these kinds of bands in their garage today.

"The Sound That Ends Creation" is Society 1's third full-length album (they also has one DVD out), and have in short time grown pretty popular among the younger nu-metallers in USA, but personally I just think they are boring.
Sure they have some good riffing here and there and the production is very good, but with the strenuous singer (and Pornstar) Matt Zane and all the typical Nu-Metal ingredients like horrible screams mixed with clean almost rapping vocals and the word "fuck" in every sentence, they can't even rise above all the other stuff that comes out today, they are just way to unoriginal.

No, what Society 1 needs is a big portion of originality and maybe a new singer, then they should start to study real Metal acts and learn from them. Or maybe they should change direction against the sound they have on "I Love Her".
But I guess that will never happen, so they'll just go on and maybe satisfy the fans of the genre, because this is created for them.

"I Love Her because she's dead, cold dreams of love fill my head"

Check Out: "I Love Her", the only song that's even close to be called Good, just because it's so different from the rest.
