Look at the cover, what do you expect with an ugly cover like that? I don't really know what the hell is, I don't care, and I don't like it. The name of the band, god... Messenger? Couldn't the do something better? Like Messenger of something... Besides the name reminds me of the popular online service, the instant messenger, pick yours, MSN, Yahoo, AOL, is weird listening a band calling themselves Messenger. In their defense I must say that they've been around since 1990, so they really didn't have idea of the popularity of their name a decade later.

So, this band formed in 1990, and I bet that thousands of our readers haven't heard of them before, so, what's the deal? These guys are so bad and they've been struggling to get a place in the scene for 14 years? Something like that, first, they're not so bad, they only seem to be, you know the cover, the name etc?

This 6 track Demo begins with the title song "Feel The Fire" a classic Heavy Metal piece, I was afraid of the vocalist, in Classic Heavy Metal bands either you love or hate the vocalist, but to my surprise, Mr. Siegfried Schü ßler can handle the vocals properly.
The songs are old-style Heavy Metal, and all the tracks contains every single cliché done so far in Metal history, I mean, just listen at the chorus of the title song, "Feel The Fire, Burning in my souuuuuul"

The rest of the Demo goes on with the same style, special mention to the ballad "Pharaoh" because it got some new stuff in there, the rest of the album passed unnoticed before my ears, heard this type of music a million times.
The thing that shocked me the most of this band is that they've been around for 14 years! And why this is shocking? Because this Demo sounds like is it have been done by a high-school band, that they just met each other and they playing Heavy Metal for fun, and by that I don't mean the production, is the musicianship and songwriting what I'm referring.

Generic Heavy Metal, done by some old farts doing the same stuff for 14 years, maybe they should plan on doing something else, like playing in Barmitzvas and Weddings, hope that these guys still have their dayjobs.
