First of all I have to say something; this album is one of the best musical experiences I've had in months, Toner Low is a Dutch band that could easily beat the crap out of many mainstream Drone bands claiming to be "the best" at what they do. This being said I'll try to draw this review in a deeper way.

If you liked Sunn O))) for their originality and their music, Toner Low will literally make you crap your pants in seconds, the environment surrounding this CD is not really dark or depressive as Sunn O))), I mean just check the cover art and you'll see what I mean, Toner Low grabs interesting and complex passages just to add Doom Metal overtones, the final product is amazing. Another great feature is the musicianship, you won't find simplistic riffs or unobtrusive solos, instead this band fills the atmosphere with awesome breakdowns and multifaceted guitar leads, so even though you are hearing Drone Metal there are enough bridges, solos, incredible drum-patterns, interesting lyrics, and overwhelming vocalizations (tied up with high pitched effects), to vary things up a lot.

I want to highlight one of the best songs I've registered in my brain since a long time ago, the tune is called We Will Conquer a 14 minutes track that pounds your brains out making you go "What the fuck am I hearing right now?" then after some minutes you'll appreciate the masterful songwriting while the layered breakdowns and the complex chords flow spectacularly through your speakers; I don't want to spoil the surprise so I won't say more, I just want to say this sixth track made a huge mess in my brain cells and after the song ended I actually stood there (in front of my stereo) for a couple of minutes trying, without success, to understand the psychedelic images and the whole unexplainable feelings running through my head at that precise moment, so yes, it's a shocking song indeed, but I think you'll have to hear the entire album to actually experience all those things described above.

I can't think of any other genre than Progressive Drone Doom for this kind of music, every single thing laying in this piece is wonderful, though it was a turn off to see it didn't last longer than 45 minutes and to see such a minimalist layout (no booklet); other than that this album is amazing, so you'll have to trust me on this, the smartest thing to do is to go now and fucking buy this album (there's a link below), you won't regret this I promise.
