Lupine Moon is the one-man project of Jim O'Connor, a musician from USA. This solo project use to play a dark Heavy metal with some progressive touch and this new auto production seem to be something interesting. In fact "Blood Of The Wolf" is a really good auto-production due to the fact that a lot of this songs are musically really well done.

"Blood Of The Wolf" is the solo project of Jim, I mean that he is the only one who plays all the instruments on this cd. The result is that maybe some parts with some instruments are better than some others. Jim is a really good guitarist better than for Drums for example. But well the technical music average on this album is good and there is not a real problem on that point.
About the music of Lupine Moon, I will say that it's also good because the musical structure of all the songs are very well written. At the end we can have some ballads, or some songs very Heavy, it's always well done well written and the songs are more than correct. Plus, the progressive touch, that we have on this album, are excellent and give a lot of power to the songs, really it's a good thing, and it's good to listen this album for sure.

With 10 songs and more than 54 mins of playing time, this auto-production is really promising, but there is maybe 2 problems for me.
It's not new with the auto-productions and the demo, but the production is not really good. And this album sound very low, and the voice of Jim seem with that to be not really nice. It's a shame because I'm sure that it could be really better. But I know this is always the same problem, it's hard to have a good production if you don't have a label that supports you.... I really whish to Jim to record this album or his next one with a good record session. It will be certainly better?

Anyway this "Blood Of The Wolf" is a good auto-production and I'm sure that with some better means of production, we could have some really good albums in the future. It's hard today for a band to be recognized but when I see the work on this one I have no doubt that something really good could happen for Lupine Moon in the future....

Note: You can listen 2 songs on the official website
