This has to be one of the most underrated bands ever! Let Me Dream are virtually unknown in the scene, even if they're hailing from Finland, one of the countries that get more attention and promotion in the Metal field nowadays.
Reading the biography enclosed to the promo of this, their third full length, I discovered that the band formed around 1989, that's a long run without having a break worldwide? there must be something wrong I think, they must play really really bad to get such little attention of media, but later inspection and a few spins prove me wrong?

The Cd has a great cover art, (as always, the first thing I notice), even it has no booklet, only a band picture in a two-fold page. So, I pop the Cd in my record player, just to hear the first notes of a keyboard, which seconds later transforms in "Soulshine" opener and title track of the record.

The band is playing, -in my opinion- a mixture of Gothic and Death Metal with some Doom influences here and there. The music is very melodic, they keyboards and guitar solos are always present, the vocals take two forms to reach the listener, one is a Death Metal Growl, which can even resemble a shriek for time to time, and a clear deep voice, reminiscent of many Gothic outfits. The vocal task are handled almost 50%-50% by the two styles.

Compositions are quite nice, having aggression and melody on them, the aggressive parts are defined by the harsh vocals of course, and the melodic parts are created via keyboard, which use is quite varied and tasteful.
Songs that shined among the others were "Roses On The Silver Plate" which reminded me of some avant-garde bands like Solefald and Arcturus, "Powered By The Moon" is another excellent song, the up-tempo rhythm and "happy" feel is great, the alternation between vocal styles works very well here. "Dust Of Time" is another example of what this band can do, there's a bonus on the Cd, containing a video of this song.

Let Me Dream are no newcomers in the scene, they have behind them years of hard work and practically no recognition, and I think is time that bands like this have the proper support to keep on going. A talented band, a record full of good melodies, nice tunes and a gloomy touch on top, give these guys a chance, download some songs from their website, and then tell me what you thought about them. Until then, best of lucks for Let Me Dream.
