The metal scene in Mexico is poor and there are few bands that can be recognized as good bands right? WRONG, believe it or not Mexico has some incredible bands for every metal genre, bands like Disgorge, Transmetal, Agora (I'm sure everyone has heard this band at least once), Eydillion, Cenotaph and in this case EVELIN?

Now, I know I usually make DEATH reviews (don't blame me Death metal is the best genre)but I saw Evelin live and I said to myself, man you should buy their album and make a review on it so here we go. This particular band has an incredible fusion of Doom and industrial metal (check out the intro in the song Missing, and the track consequence in those two songs, specially in consequence, electronic devises, baboon screams, and that kind of stuff are incredibly well used) depressing, and grim atmospheres surround this album, every single track has a life of it's own, for example G 55 is maybe the slower song in this album, but still it has powerful riffs, and great drumming, and the phrase in this song "to be more human, to be more human, to be a number, like you" is just perfect for what the song is about and it's environment.

The songs to follow are definitely "Quiero Ser" and "sick" the first one has the best bass intro I have ever heard in years (not for the technical or complexity stuff but for the melody of it) , the opening scream is crushing and the drumming is also great (in fact the drumming in this album is just breathtaking, every song can be highlighted for the drums); but if you want to hear the really good stuff from this album try the other track "sick" fast intro, great lyrics, unbelievable drumming, a very interesting guitar lead, and a very good scream in the middle and at the end of the song, (by the way the ending is powerful as hell), The album opener "Angel" is incredibly too, the intro is great with the creepy sounding phrase "Evelin is Riiiight here" great guitar riffs, and the BEST vocals for this album and I mean it this song has really good vocals that are in fact a little different from the other vocalizations of the album and one thing is for sure they sound incredibly better LIVE.

A great independent band with two albums, (hear the track "My Time" the best song IMO from their previous album "mind Passenger" huge song if you ask me, if you can download it. recommended), proving that the Doom/Industrial Metal scene in Mexico is not as lost as some people thought it was, a great album, great cover (the baboon screaming photo is awesome), great music, and a great offer for the genre. Disgorge Changed the feelings of people who used to think that Death Metal in Mexico didn't existed, The same happened with Agora and the Progressive Metal Scene, Eydillion and the gothic metal scene, I have a feeling that Evelin will do something similar in a not so distant Future.
