Every time a Progressive band comes around the scene, people will always draw comparisons with some of the bigger acts like Dream Theater and Symphony X, some other bands try to be Progressive but they fail miserably because of the lack of musicianship of the band members, either way, you need to have originality and a good technical formation to be a contender in Progressive Metal arena.

Khallice from Brazil are no juniors here, each member is capacitated for the job, each member is a virtuoso in their instrument, Marcelo Barbosa displays unique talent when handling the guitar duties, Bruno Wambier does an amazing job with the keyboards, giving seventies and eighties touches to the music; drums patterns are ingenious and creative handled by César Zolhof; Michel Marciano does wonders with the bass lines ; vocals are handled by Alírio Netto, while he's a good singer and can reach some notes, he can become annoying from time to time.

Having these talents in each instrument, you can expect well crafted compositions and intricate passages, instrumental breaks are all over the album, and songs like "Vampire", "I've Lost My Faith" and "The Journey" really rock.

My main problem with this album is the vocals and the lack of catchy songs, all songs are great, but they lack hooks and catchy moments, is too technical too put it in other words. As for the vocals they can get really annoying sometimes, mostly when the vocalist tries to reach some high note, he forces his voice too much.

This is a great debut album, maybe too technical for me, but it will the delight of Progressive fans all over the world, those who like Dream Theater and Shadow Gallery, get this one, you wont be disappointed.
