Ethernia are from Chile, they play Power Metal and this is their first release (not counting a Demo). The Ep is called "Fuera De Este Mundo" (out of this world) and yes, they sing in Spanish señorita.

First of all this release stinks of Stratovarius all over, and once again I'm not mistaken, this is a tribute to Scandinavian Power Metal from start to end, of course, minus good production, real talent, originality and a huge fanbase. At the end we have a worthy try from Chilean Stratovarius wannabies.

After a short intro "Cara O Sello" begins with a melody I'm sure I've heard somewhere, "Antes Del Fin De Los Tiempos" (before the end of times) has this horrible echo effect on the vocals, although it has a nice chorus. "Angel De Luz"(angel of light) is another fast paced song with all the trademarks of a Power metal tune, really cliché. Title track "Fuera De Este Mundo" begins slow, then it builds up to this mid paced track, really heavy and quite interesting. Last song, "Hijos" (sons) is another cliché filled Power Metal song.

The good news, is that this release is from Chile, and we don't get much Power Metal exported from South America (except from Brazil), so is a good thing that Ethernia (isn't that the name from the planet of He-man and the Master Of The Universe?) released this Ep.

My advice is practice, lots of it, these guys need to create their own style and then export it as South American Power Metal, that could work, because if you get this stuff out there, it will go unnoticed among the thousand of annual releases of Power Metal, and to be honest I didn't found anything in particular in this Ep to make it worth while. Nice try from this guys, but the cold truth is, this release is not our of this world.
