Legola's cousin got a Metal band!

Ok, here's the deal, Pavel Rekarski lived his live like any other typical Bulgarian, he mingled well in his society, had friends, family and maybe a girlfriend, he watched TV, listened to music and went to social gatherings. Later on his life he discovered he was actually, an elf! He realized he was from the elfish world called "the wet lands" and his native tongue was a language called "Tura Leagan" (meaning "far away").

Later on his life, Pavel changed his name to Arvells Elfaros (just like Cassius Clay turning into Muhammad Ali), and he told everyone that we were living on the fifth age of the world, the age of awakening, meaning: this album was made to awake all elves from their slumber, and return them to our sick world.

All songs are singed in Tura Leagan language, so don't ask me what he sings about. Music can be described as a mix of Black Metal and Medieval Folk music, the result is a rich atmospheric experience with great instrumentation. Arvells uses two kind of voices, shrieking and clean, the latter resembling some middle east chants (think Orphaned Land).

One thing that I think is the major setback of the album is the production, is not crystal clear and the vocals are too buried in the mix, folk instruments always take the major role, and I think is cool, but you can feel also that not everything is where it should have been.
The best parts are the calm ones, moodier moments where the folk interludes take control, those are relaxing and beautiful as well.

Lovers of any mix between Black and Folk will love this, maybe the production is not as good as you might want it, but still is a very decent listen plus the innovation, the whole fantasy background (the elvish thing and all that) is very appealing for those looking for more than 4 guys with long hair cursing in front of a microphone, at least here we can't decipher what he's saying, maybe he's singing how he banged all our mothers, for the sake of the realm of the elves, hope not.
