"Let the carnage begins", that's the opening line in this album; A Melodic Black Metal band from Malta with incredible atmospheres, awesome balance and shivering passages; this band is about to blast your speakers, so, be prepared.

First of all, if you are one of those Raw Black Metal enthusiasts, avoid this piece no matter what, but, if you are one of those Melodic Black Metal fans in love with structures or polished music, if you enjoy some catchy riffs from time to time, and if you blatantly hate Muddy or Raw Black Metal, you will love "The Carnage Lit By Darkness" no doubt. The music presented within this album will satisfy all the Melodic Black Metal maniacs, this band leaves all the original rawness of old school Black Metal aside, then adds some melodies here and there to create complex environments and better atmospheres.

The actual highlight in this album might be the keyboardist work, this guy creates terrifying environments, cold atmospheres and shivering passages in the most amazing way, this guy actually generates a whole new atmosphere no matter what, so if you are listening to this album, and then you find yourself having some hallucinations of Satan raping a goat, don't worry, that's just the keyboards messing with your head, do not call the firefighters or anything.

Side-Note: there's also a really cool effect in the 6th track, the sound of a whiplash and a girl saying "Oh Christ, Fuck me"?its hilarious believe me.

The album is actually very good, entertaining from the beginning to the end (sometimes even scary). This could be a fine purchase for anyone, just don't expect the best Black Metal band you've heard; try to be open minded about this, and only then, you'll see this album is very good in every aspect (except the artwork, cause it sucks).
